Collin Noortmann Chandler

A painter - but not just one - sort of.

At forty-three, while visiting New Orleans and exploring its art scene, Collin Chandler had a notion, "I think I want to paint."

He went home to Utah, studied under Shanna Kunz (accomplished landscape painter), and developed his own style. Then another style. And then maybe one more.

Today he paints in Astoria, Oregon using multiple mediums and multiple signatures:

C. N. Chandler - is mostly contemporary, representational industrial still-life or landscapes, almost always with metaphoric or anthropomorphized subtext.

C. Noortmann C. - for abstract or figurative images and less subtle metaphors.

Collin N. C. - for primitive or playful notions that may or may not impart serious subtext.

Chandlero - for locally relevant and saleable subjects suited for Astoria's residents and visitors.
